Aims and Objectives

At Carleton House Preparatory School, our mission statement
“We live, love and learn with Jesus” underpins every aspect of school life.

As a Catholic school, our purpose is to participate in the mission of the Church: to form young people who know they are loved by God, who grow in faith, and who are equipped to live out the Gospel in their daily lives. Our aims and objectives reflect our commitment to the formation of the whole person, ensuring that every child flourishes spiritually, morally, academically and personally.

A Caring and Inclusive Community

Carleton House is a school where every child is known, valued and supported.

We are proud to serve a diverse and multicultural community, and we warmly welcome families from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures and faith traditions. This diversity enriches the life of our school and reflects the universal nature of the Catholic Church.

Guided by Gospel values, we promote:

  • Respect for the dignity of every person
  • A strong sense of belonging for all
  • Positive relationships rooted in kindness, compassion and understanding

Pupils are encouraged to recognise and celebrate difference, developing respect for others and an appreciation of the richness that diversity brings to our community.

As a result, Carleton House is a place where all feel included, respected and able to flourish — both as individuals and as members of a faith-filled community.

Aims

At Carleton House we aim to:

  • Form the whole child in Christ, recognising the dignity and uniqueness of every individual
  • Nurture a living faith, enabling pupils to grow in relationship with God
  • Promote Gospel values, shaping how we live, learn and treat one another
  • Provide academic excellence with purpose, inspiring a love of learning and achievement
  • Develop a strong moral compass, guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Build a caring and inclusive community, where all feel valued and respected
  • Prepare pupils for their vocation, equipping them to serve others and contribute to the wider world

Objectives

To achieve these aims, we are committed to:

  • Living Our Mission Daily, ensuring that the mission of the school is visible in all aspects of school life, shaping relationships, behaviour and the learning environment.
  • Promoting Relationships Rooted in the Gospel, encouraging all members of the school community to follow the example of Jesus in their relationships, demonstrating respect, forgiveness, empathy and care for others.
  • Supporting Spiritual Development, providing regular opportunities for prayer, reflection and spiritual growth, enabling pupils to deepen their understanding of faith and its relevance to their lives.
  • Delivering a Rich and Purposeful Curriculum, offering a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the world, while making meaningful connections between faith and life.
  • Encouraging Responsibility and Service, providing opportunities for pupils to take responsibility, develop leadership skills and serve others within the school, the parish and the wider community.
  • Promoting Respect for Human Dignity, ensuring that all pupils understand the value and dignity of every person, and are prepared to live and work in a diverse and multicultural society with respect and compassion.
  • Developing Reflective and Caring Individuals, encouraging pupils to reflect on their experiences, develop self-awareness and make thoughtful, informed decisions guided by Gospel values.
